England and Scotland, Food and Customs
By TinaAtHome
I was raised in England and was totally unaware how much information I adsorbed about that country until I moved to the United States. How to make tea, how to make Dundee Cake and other really useful information for an ex-Brit. Gradually I've been writing hubs about the country and the customs.
I'm putting all my English and Scottish hubs together in this one round up hub so that you can just browse the British hubs without having to scroll through pages of homeschooling or health hubs.
I was raised in Chester, in the North West, which is 20 miles from Liverpool. It was a Roman city and is famous for its Rows which is shopping on two levels. Making tea and using china cups is more of a southern occupation than a northern one, but the northerners still drink a lot of tea, usually in mugs. I do know how to make the perfect cuppa.
The concept of afternoon tea was conceived by the British in India. When dinner was as late as 7pm, a cup of tea was served around 4pm with a little something to satisfy until dinner time.
- How to Make the Perfect Cup of British Tea
Making tea perfectly is a combination of many factors the type of tea, temperature, strength, how its served and of course the environment. It is considered that only the British really know how to...

Just north of the border is Scotland, a land full of great scenery and proud people. Scotland has some great history and I wrote about some of it in the following hub.
