How to Earn Money Online if You Live in California
64How to Earn Money Online if You Live in California, Colorado, Illinois, North Carolina, Rhode Island, or Connecticut. Because these are the places you can no longer earn money with Amazon Affiliates.
With HubPages you can only earn money with Google or Amazon unless you advertise something else you do. There are many other places and methods you can earn money online, here are just a few:
1. ShareASale Affiliate Program. Advertise products and get a percentage. Just like Amazon, but a different group of companies.
2. LinkShare Affiliate Program. Just like Amazon and ShareASale, advertise products and get a percentage. This includes Barnes & Noble, so if you had Amazon Ads on your own webpage you can change them to Barnes & Noble. While you can’t change your Amazon links on HubPages, if you have an InfoBarrel account, you can change your Amazon links to Barnes and Noble. You can, however, put Barnes & Noble affiliate links into the body of text in your hubs.
Do You Think Amazon Should Pay Sales Tax?

4. Best-Reviewer. This site was designed as a place where you can add lists of bookmarks to your online writing, but it seems Google loves Best-Reviewer right now and articles there are getting to page 1 of Google and earning AdSense money. People are getting creative and adding more than just lists of articles.
5. Fiverr. What can you do for $5? Be creative and think what you can offer for $5 and you can sell a gig over and over.
6. Write your own blog. You can put Google ads on your blog along with banner ads from ShareASale or LinkShare. Then backlink it on Best-Reviewer and earn from all sites.
7. Chitika. I’ve only found InfoBarrel that uses Chitika, but you can put their ads on your own webpage too.
8. YouTube. It takes a lot of videos to get ads on YouTube, but it can be done.
9. eBay. Many people still make a living on eBay, although it’s getting harder to sell there than it was just a few years ago.
10. Internet Consultancy. If you have a specialist area you can offer consultancy merely with a webpage and a paypal button. You do have to do some advertising, but the opportunity is there.
I really feel in a world that is so connected by the Internet there are many opportunities to earn money. You just have to balance your time with the amount of money you are earning. And I haven’t mentioned the places you can do instant work such as MTurk and oDesk.
I’m still not convinced that ShareASale and LinkShare will replace Amazon. The beauty of Amazon was that someone could browse for one thing and then buy something else. I could advertise a book, someone would click on my link and end up buying a toilet. (Yes, it happened!). Now I will have to write about books in one article and toilets in another, with no cross-shopping between the two.
When I started replacing Amazon ads with Barnes and Noble ads I struggled to find out how LinkShare worked. When I first worked out how to get the affiliate link, I made a video so others can find out too. The video is below.

Great article. Does Linkshare have similar companies or products at Amazon. I love Amazon, because you do not need to apply to many advertisers, you can pick up any of products and promote it without ask for code or approval.
Thanks for your good tips.

Tina,
Thanks for the info. I was on Amazon (I live in CA) and found it a little hard at first. I was thinking of going to BN, but, wow, it seems complicated. When I do I will come back to your video.
Thanks for the great hub. And for the email you sent me earlier.
